In February and March 2020, medical team of
HA joined three government delegations to bring
Hong Kong residents stranded in Tokyo and Wuhan
home. Separately, a team comprised of nurses and
phlebotomists was formed to take blood samples
and nasopharyngeal swab for the returned residents
in the quarantine centre in Chun Yeung Estate in
Fo Tan to timely identify COVID-19 cases.
醫管局的醫療隊伍在2020年2月及3月三度隨港
府隊伍到東京和武漢接送香港居民返港；另安排護
士和抽血員組成隊伍，在火炭駿洋邨檢疫中心為相
關返港市民抽取血液和鼻咽樣本化驗，以盡早識別
2019冠狀病毒病個案。

In support of staff working in high risk areas, HA
offered Special Rental Allowance to staff in need, and
introduced Special Emergency Response Allowance
in recognition of their effort and contribution in
fighting against the pandemic.
為支援在高風險區工作的員工，醫管局向有需要的
醫護提供「特別租賃津貼」，並發放「緊急應變特別
津貼」，以肯定他們在抗疫期間的付出和貢獻。

The World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 a
pandemic. HA closely monitored the development of
the situation and responded swiftly with appropriate
measures, which included converting general wards
into second tier isolation wards to offer additional
400 negative pressure beds, thereby retaining more
first tier isolation beds to accommodate the newly
confirmed cases.
世界衞生組織宣布2019冠狀病毒病疫情為「全球大
流行」。醫管局密切跟進疫情的發展，迅速調整應
對政策，包括改裝普通病房為第二線隔離病房，增
加約400張負壓病床，以騰出更多第一線隔離病床
予新確診病人使用。

HA set up temporary test centres at AsiaWorld-Expo
and North Lantau Hospital, providing tests for people
with symptoms upon their arrival. COVID-19 triage
and test stations were also set up in AEDs in various
public hospitals to offer tests to suspected patients.
醫管局在亞洲國際博覽館和北大嶼山醫院設立臨時
檢測中心，為抵港不適人士進行檢測。多間公立醫
院急症室亦陸續設立分流檢測站，為懷疑感染的病
人進行病毒測試。
