Information for new graduates
You are advised to complete one year of full-time post-qualification clinical experience, i.e. internship or foundation year, at your graduating country to attain full registration under the law of the qualifying place as a medical practitioner.
However, if for certain reasons you prefer to complete your internship in Hong Kong, you may do so if you fulfill the following criteria:
- Being a Hong Kong Permanent Resident and graduating from a medical school on the list of RMQ; AND
- Passing the Licensing Examination of the Medical Council of Hong Kong
After completing the internship year in Hong Kong, you can continue to practice under the Special Registration pathway.
