Various Registration Pathways
With the amendment of the Nurses Registration Ordinance in July 2024,
new pathways are available for non-locally trained nurses who fulfill certain criteria to
attain Limited Registration or Special Registration without the need to take the Licensing Examination.

Special Registration
Nurses who have worked for at least 5 years under Special Registration, and performed
satisfactorily and competently based on the criteria specified by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (NCHK) will be eligible for Full Registration.
