Drug Selection Committee

DSC is tasked to advice the essential quality attributes, assist the evaluation and approve the selection of new generic pharmaceuticals of introduction to the HA.

 

Terms of Reference

The Terms of Reference of DSC are:

1. To review and make recommendations on procurement policy for generic pharmaceutical products;
2. To make recommendation on acceptability of generic drug products for use in public hospitals and clinics; and
3. To advise on monitoring of efficacy and quality of drugs selected for use in public hospitals and clinics.

i.) Two University Clinical Pharmacologists*;
ii.) Assistant Director (Drug), Department of Health;
iii.) Chairperson of DAC;
iv.) Chairperson of DFC; and
v.) A Cluster DTC Chairperson*.

The tenure of members marked with * is two years. The other members are appointed by position and their tenure will lapse upon expiry of their designated positions.
