Specialist Out-patient Clinics
Hong Kong citizens are encouraged to visit general out-patient clinic (GOPC) or private family doctor when they need medical consultations. GOPCs or their family doctors will also consider making referrals to specialist outpatient clinics of Hospital Authority for specialist consultation, treatment and investigation, if necessary.
To book an appointment at specialist out-patient clinics, patients are required to present the following documents/information:
- HK Identity Card (or a valid identity document)
- Referral letter from a local registered medical practitioner issued in the last three months
- Residential address information
As of December 2019, new case booking can be made through ‘BookHA(Book SOPC)’ feature of smartphone mobile application
'HA Go' for the following specialties:
- Anaesthesiology (Pain Clinic)
- Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Clinical Oncology
- Ear, Nose and Throat
- Eye
- Gynaecology
- Medicine
- Neurosurgery
- Obstetrics
- Orthopaedics & Traumatology
- Paediatrics
- Surgery
If the condition turns acute before the appointment, the patient can seek immediate treatment at the Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments.
Patients should bring along with their valid identify document and investigation reports and X-ray films, if any, at the first time of the appointment.
