Hospital Chief Executive Dr Cissy YU Hospital Governing Committee Introduction Established following the enactment of the Tung Wah Hospital Incorporation Ordinance in 1870, this community-based hospital provides a wide range of services to inpatients, outpatients and rehabilitation day patients in Central and Western District. It was the first public hospital to receive a subvention from the Hospital Authority to provide specialist Chinese medicine out-patient services. Its subsequent launch of a pilot Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Treatment Centre in which Chinese and Western medicine practitioners collaborate to provide services to in-patients marked a milestone in Hong Kong public hospital services.
