GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS AND VISITORS
With the potential outbreak of infectious diseases, it is necessary for Hospital Authority to institute precautionary measures to ensure that our hospitals are as safe as possible for our patients, their family and friends as well as our healthcare workers. Visiting hours may vary on special occasion, please take note of hospital announcement from time to time.

Restriction on visitors
- children under the age of 16 are generally not allowed into the patient care area. For special arrangement, please contact ward nurse;
- pregnant women are strongly discouraged from visiting the hospital;
- visitors are not permitted to visit any patient who is under quarantine or in isolation, unless exceptional circumstances and prior approval has been obtained.
Visitors entrance and exit
- Please use the main entrance of Kwai Chung Hospital to enter and exit the hospital.
Infection control measures
- Visitors would be requested to wash hands;
- Ward staff, if necessary, will check whether the visitor has respiratory disease symptoms. Visitors will be requested to wear surgical masks if necessary;
- Visitors are advised not to visit patients when having symptoms of fever, diarrhoea or continuous cough;
- To protect our patient from infectious diseases, ward staff will make assessment on individual case before visits are arranged.
Visitors responsibilities
- Observe the visiting hours for the area you are visiting and comply with the hospital infection control measures;
- Patients are not allowed to leave the ward / hospital during the hospital stay unless permitted;
- You must wash /sanitize your hands upon entry to the hospital, before and after any contact with any patient, and prior to leaving the hospital;
- To protect the health of our patients, visitors and staff, smoking is not permitted in any area of the hospital.
Other Notices to Visitors
a. Visitors must bring along Visitor Card for inspection.
b. Visitors should observe the visiting hours.
c. Visitors should not enter the ward without permission from the nurses-on-duty.
d. Visitors must not provide patients with any drug.
e. Visitors should not provide patients with any food without permission of the nurses-on-duty.
f. Visitors must not pass any document to patients for signature without permission.
g. Visitors must not provide patients with any article that may cause harm.
h. Visitors can contact the nurses-on-duty for appointment with doctors.
Information on Admission

Patients should bring along their HKID card and personal items such as towels, tooth brush, shaver, etc. |

Please do not bring in the following items: |
| Glass or metallic container, e.g. thermo flask |
| Sharp items, e.g. table knife, nail-clipper |
| Valuable items and a large amount of cash |
| c. |
Do not give any food, money or gift to any staff member. |
| d. |
Patients can use the following communication channels to express opinions on the services: |
| - Ward in-charge |
| - Patient Relation Officer |
| - Any Opinion Collection Boxes within the Hospital Compound |

Patients can inform the nurses-on-duty to arrange appointment with doctors. |

If patients request to be discharged, they can inform the nurses-on-duty to arrange application with the doctors. |
