In-patient service for adult psychiatric patients
Patients are referred for Kwai Chung Hospital admission from psychiatric out-patient departments or the Accident and Emergency Departments of general hospitals. Based on the patients' mental conditions and needs, they are admitted to the following wards:

Acute Admission Ward |
|
There are 8 Acute Admission Wards for patients with acute psychiatric problem. The Acute Admission Wards provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment.

Post Admission Ward |
|
6 Post Admission Wards, with therapeutic environment, provide on-going psychiatric assessment and implement multi-disciplinary treatment to patients who are referred from the Acute Admission Wards.

Rehabilitation Ward |
|
Rehabilitation Wards adopt open-door policy and with home-like environment. Medical, nursing and allied health staff provide training and assist patients to acquire daily living and work skills, through social skill training, occupational therapy and various rehabilitation programmes. Upon completion of the training and rehabilitation programme, patients will be discharged to home, half-way house or long stay care home. Some of them will be arranged sheltered workshop placement.

Day Centre |
|
Staff in Day Centre conduct tailor-made self-care skill training, community living skill training and other rehabilitation programmes to strengthen patients' daily living skills and adaptation ability so as to assist them to re-integrate to the society. |
