Scope of Service

1.	In-ward Psychiatric Consultation
	The team provides timely psychiatric consultation to patients in general hospitals who need psychiatric care, particularly for those with psychosomatic problem, psychosocial crisis and psychiatric emergency. After psychiatric assessment, subject to patients' individual needs, follow-up management such as psychiatric admission or psychiatric out-patient treatment will be arranged accordingly.

Psychiatric Consultation at Accident & Emergency Department

The team is designated to provide timely psychiatric consultation to patients at the Accident & Emergency Departments (AED) of the general hospitals. Besides attending patients in person, the psychiatrists and the psychiatric nurses are also ready to provide telephone consultation to AED doctors. After psychiatric assessment, subject to patients' individual needs, proper follow-up management such as psychiatric admission or psychiatric out-patient treatment will be arranged accordingly
