Introduction The Hospital has been purpose-built to provide assessment, extended-care and integrated rehabilitation services to elderly, chronically-ill and acute psychiatric patients referred to it by other hospitals in the area or from the central infirmary waiting list. It is also one of three designated spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation centres in Hong Kong. The Hospital aims to ensure that its patients receive a continuum of quality patient-centred and holistic care, and to contribute to improving the health of the surrounding community. To these ends, it collaborates with other health service providers, carers and community organisations to initiate joint programmes to promote health and long-term care. Scope of Services
