Introduction Opened in 1961, the oldest-established psychiatric hospital in Hong Kong admits general psychiatric inpatients from the New Territories and manages a network of psychiatric clinics and day hospitals. It also provides consultation services to the inpatients of general wards in some other hospitals. Apart from basic psychiatry, it offers a number of sub-specialty services, as well as an intensive rehabilitation programme. In addition, it operates the only Psychiatric Forensic Unit in Hong Kong, conducts post-graduate psychiatric training and field training in clinical psychology and occupational therapy, and trains psychiatric nurses. Through its regular educational activities, the Hospital also helps to increase the community’s awareness about mental health. Scope of Services
